Our Mission

Mission Statement – To make Christ like Disciples

Our services are design to connect people to Christ producing a vibrant relationship.

Our Services are     Contemporary in Method

   Creative in Message

      Compassionate in Ministry

This is a place where religion dies and relationships are born!

Our Vision

The vision of NVC Naz is to become a surrendered and transformed people, sensitive to the Holy Spirit, who love God and others. To become a community of believers, focused on Christ and not ourselves, who are driven by the reality that this is not about us, rather all about Jesus. To become transfixed by His story and His heart for our city. We are seed-throwers, grace-sowers, fire-starters and hope-builders; risk-takers and dreamers; burden-bearers and prayer-warriors, young and old. Through Christ, we will empower the poor, strengthen the weak, embrace the outcast, and seek the lost. We will serve together, worship together, grow together, play together, and live life together. We link arms with all who follow Jesus. Our world will change because God sent us. We stand united.

Our Core Values

1) Experiencing, celebrating and proclaiming the love of God through Jesus Christ is the core of all we do!

2) Family is a gift from God that we are to love and disciple--we will promote family unity in all we do.

3) Our faith in God's love through Jesus Christ compels us to serve with excellence in all we do to make a difference in our world.

4) Integrity is the heart of our core values--we will use the highest biblical standards for Christian living in our daily interactions.

Our Staff

Executive Pastor Brian Madtes

Pastor Brian became a Christian at a very young age. After High School he attended and graduated from Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs. A few years after that, God led Brian to enlist in the US Air Force and he was stationed at various locations throughout the United States in his 30-year career. Throughout the years Brian served in various ministry positions…Pastor, Associate Pastor, Youth Pastor, Choir Director, Choir Member, Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, Church Treasurer, Church Board Member, Church Board Secretary, Cleaning Crew Member, and a few other positions; God has truly blessed his faithfulness and commitment. Brian and his lovely bride, Jennifer, were married over 37 years ago. They have three children, Meredith Cook, Melissa Wagner, and Megan Lemus.
Associate Pastor Wayne Keith

Pastor Wayne spent most of his adult life in the business world. Before becoming a Christian just before his 40th birthday, he was a corporate pilot and president of a company with 1,200 employees. Through a series of circumstances the Lord humbled him and for the first time in his life, he could hear the Lord clearly. Salvation was at hand!
Wayne has served in many different ministries, including serving as Associate Pastor in many of South Texas Nazarene churches. He has 5 kids and 8 grandkids that he loves to spoil and send home with their parents. He is young at heart to counteract the crown of white hair which the Lord says denotes wisdom. He loves all people and only wishes to serve them and his Lord

Assistant Pastor Ric Thomas

Worship Pastor Tommy Leonard
Pastor Tommy is the newest member of our staff serving as Worship Pastor. He has been a pastor on our district for 10 years, serving as Youth Pastor, Worship Pastor and Sunday School Teacher. His life long passion for music has taken him from playing and writing music for the world to now writing and playing for his Lord. He is joined in ministry by his wife Molly, and their three children, Chandler, Trey and Jordan.

Learning Center Director Kelly LaRose

Kelly has been working with children for over 10 years and her passion for children to learn is clearly evident. She taught Sunday School classes, planned and led church camps across Texas, ran a tutoring facility for elementary through adults, taught two-year olds through second graders, and was also an assistant director at several child care centers. Kelly is a graduate of Texas State College with Cum Laude honors. Kelly married the love of her life, Justin, over four years ago. She is enjoying growing with her family and watching God’s hand move in their lives. They recently were blessed with a baby boy, Xander
